CT60+CTPCI news
By Rodolphe on 2010-04-14

Hello,

We have good news :

- no more freezing on DMA PLX accesses with a modification of the ABE

arbiter (please update).

- A small correction on CTPCI for TA (transfer Acknowledge = end of cycle

060) : should remove some \'address fault\' on boot you may experienced and

may increase staibility at high speed (above 90 MHz).

With these 2 updates, I ran at 95 MHz during several hours with PLX DMA ON

without any crash.

- Anyplayer runs in 256 & 65K with MP3 & MOV playing. No Falcon SDMA , 060 &

PLX DMA conflict ! Everybody is running together...

- The desktop icons are here and correct in 65K mode with DMA PLX transfers

(this confirm that PLX DMA is OK) ! No correct icons in 256 colors modes...I

think it is a software problem here.

- Kronos 1.91 runs with DMA ON and all tests are ok. Sure there are some

redraw problems like in the desktop... and it is crashing in 65K at start of

OPEN GL test (no problem without DMA).

Note in 256 colors modes with OPEN GL test we get a result of 14365 with

100% 060 use and 14563 with DMA PLX use. So, we can say here that the DMA is

replacing the 060 with good performances. The DMA is actually Single

transfers (1 long at each transfer) and I have to finish the BURST mode (4

longs per transfer only in DMA read mode from SDRAM).

Now we can use DMA and continue to resolve the software problems...

DMA are necessary for USB PCI boards by example...

Like never before, Didier & Patrice need help from other developers...

They may have some specific work & investigation to distribute if you want

to help !

The work to be done stays colossal and they cannot success alone (sure they

will but how long time will it take ??).

Join us to debug CT+CTPCI.

Please contact Didier or Patrice M.

Some of you are developers & have not order CTPCI and I hope they will join

us.

Thanks
